South Stormont is once again the place to be to celebrate Canada Day! There will be two exciting events lined up for celebrations, capped off with a spectacular fireworks display along the Long Sault Waterfront!
Office ClosureThe Township Office will be closed on Tuesday, July 1st for Canada Day. There will be NO CHANGES to garbage and recycling collection due to the holiday.

The Township of South Stormont and the Environmental Action Committee is excited to announce a new Rain Barrel Program in partnership with RainBarrel.ca!
The program offers residents an affordable way to support water conservation efforts at home, while supporting future initiatives of the Environmental Action Committee.

Special Air Quality Statement Issued for the Region

A Special Air Quality Statement (SAQS) has been issued for the Eastern Ontario region, as smoke from wildfires is causing poor air quality that is expected to last from a few hours to a few days. The Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) is advising residents to consider reducing or rescheduling strenuous outdoor activities while the statement is in effect. Wildfire smoke can be harmful to everyone’s health even at low concentrations.
